SUSTAINABLE QUALITY WITH
COATED LENSES
The lasting quality of a lens is guaranteed by good coatings. The basic factors are
resistance, durability and easy cleaning. These characteristics provide those who wear
glasses with safety and optimal vision, meaning that they will be happy with their
glasses. There are now a range of options for refining lenses with certain coatings and
making them more comfortable and resistant. As a matter of principle, Convex Vision supplies
all the items it produces with indices of 1.60, 1.67 and 1.74 with an additional
super-hydrophobic (water and dust repellent) layer.
New and almost invisible: MultiCoat Nuance with "make-up" effect
“Make-up” effect for glasses
Due to the delicate beige-rosé-colored residual reflection of the MultiCoat Nuance, the
lens finish adapts to the wearer.
Low residual reflex for the highest aesthetic demands
The residual reflection of the MultiCoat Nuance is again significantly reduced compared
to traditional anti-reflective coatings with a green residual reflection.
Highest quality and durability
The constant further development of our finishing processes ensures a particularly
resistant hard layer and an optimized super anti-reflective coating with up to 80% fewer
residual reflections. A newly developed top clean and antistatic layer complete the
finishing package of the MultiCoat Nuance.
Anti-Reflection
Spectacle lenses that do not have a finishing coating are highly reflective. As a result, the lenses don’t look good and your eyes are difficult to see for the person you are talking to. Furthermore, light is reflected from the back surface of the lens directly into the eyes of the wearer. The anti-reflection coating ensures a significant reduction in reflection both in the direction of the wearer and of the observer. This provides comfortable and fatigue-free vision. Furthermore, you benefit from less glare reflex, especially at night.
Hard coating
The eyes tend to adjust to any
scratch on the lens surface. This strains the eyes unnecessarily and causes headaches
and reduced concentration. The plastic lenses are therefore coated with a hard layer to
protect them from scratches. In spite of this hard layer, you should make sure that you
never put your glasses down with the lenses facing down to protect them.
Super-hydrophobic coating
The super-hydrophobic coating ensures that water and dirt are repelled from the lens surface. Irritating drops of water roll off without leaving streaks on the glass. The coating also makes it easier to clean the lenses.
Blue light filter
As a result of the many hours we spend on laptops, smartphones & tablets, we increasingly experience eye fatigue and even frequent headaches. This is due to the blue-violet light that is emitted by most digital devices. When visible light hits the eye, the blue light waves are more strongly refracted and focused in front of the retina. The resulting diffused light can lead to greater glare at night and to fatigue or burning eyes, e.g. when working on a PC. A blue light filter coating filters out a large part of this light.
